Hi, I’m Brenda and I’m a retired nurse. I was brought up in a regular churchgoing family, and would say I always believed in God. However, I came to realise that it was only head knowledge, and I did not have a personal relationship with Him. Let me explain how this situation changed.
When I was a teenager I was invited by a friend to a 'Christian' meeting. There was going to be a popular male singer present so I decided to go along. There were lots of people there and lots of good singing, especially from the male singer. I did not pay much attention to the preacher, but when he asked if anybody would like to know more about Jesus to come up to the front, I nudged my friend and said lets go so we can get to see the male singer close up! But while I was out at the front I began to take note of what the preacher was now saying. He said that Jesus loved us so much that he died for our sins, so that we could be right with God. I did not think I had done anything really terrible, but I knew I had done wrong and I had not given God the place in my life that I should have. Jesus LOVED ME! That really stirred me and I wanted to know more about Him, so I could commit my life to Him and ask His forgiveness. He has changed my life and given me real purpose and hope. Hope and purpose in this present life as well as hope and purpose for eternity when I know that I will be with Him in heaven. You can find out more about the love of Jesus by reading the bible, you could start with John’s Gospel, that's a challenge!
MY QUESTION TO YOU: Do you have that hope and purpose in your life?
