Chris & Sophie Tinker

I recently moved with my family from Great Yarmouth to become Pastor of Cornerstone Church Brighouse. It’s great to be back in Yorkshire, and to live in the lovely town of Brighouse.
Whether you have big questions, are wanting to find our more, have a young faith or long established faith, we’d love to meet you. We’re really passionate about giving people a warm welcome, whether at our café on Bradford Road, at the different events that we run or on a Sunday morning at the Civic Hall.
Chris studied Theology at Durham University where his passion for sharing the gospel developed and he has worked in Church ministry ever since. He does, however, have experience of work outside the Church including cleaning in care homes and packing fish and garlic bread (not in the same packets thankfully!) After leaving University, he worked as a Student Worker at an evangelical church in Birmingham and trained one day a week on the Northern Cornhill Ministry training course at Christ Church, Fulwood in Sheffield. It was in Birmingham that Sophie and Chris married, having met at University.
Sophie has a degree in Theology and is grateful that she ended up studying in the library at the same time as Chris one afternoon and asked him if he would like to go for a cup of tea, leading to marriage a few years later! She trained as a Primary school teacher and after spending some time doing classroom based teaching she worked as a specialist advisory teacher for Ethnic Minority Achievement. Sophie loves reading, school holidays, sitting down for a nice cup of tea, spending time with her friends and family, reading to her children, hearing people's stories and good food.
Chris and Sophie have 3 children and as a family they love exploring new places together, spending time with church family, getting new library books and going on holiday to Matlock in Derbyshire.
We love to do anything we can to help you find out more about Jesus, so please pop along sometime, or get in touch.
